Potential Manchester United buyer Sheikh Jassim seems to believe Kylian Mbappe 'belongs to Manchester United' and wants to bring him to the club if he takes control.

Mbappe has thrown the football world into chaos after telling Paris Saint-Germain he has no intention of triggering a one-year extension to his contract, which ends in 2024.

It seems to make the Ligue 1 giants 'angry' but interest is understandable from some of the big names.

Real Madrid are among the main contenders, having lost longtime striker Karim Benzema to Al Ittihad in Saudi Arabia. Chelsea are also apparently set to 'register their interest', while Man Utd have been linked. United's relationship has been given more weight, regarding their imminent takeover. The club has been up for sale since last November, with Sheikh Jassim and INEOS president Sir Jim Ratcliffe as the main contenders.

The two will probably inject cash to create a team that can compete for titles in the UK and Europe. Sheikh Jassim has ambitious plans if he takes control of the club.

Football Insider reports that he is 'very keen to bring Mbappe to Man United if his takeover is successful'. He has apparently told his teammates that he believes the striker 'belongs' to the club and will therefore try to get him on board. Reports suggest he should claim a fee of around £170m.

If Sheikh Jassim injects cash if he succeeds in taking over, those fees could be within reach.

Recent reports from Qatar suggest he has won the race to take over the club and that will be announced 'soon'.

While Mbappe's trap would be a big statement, it will certainly put United back on the pedestal they reached a few years ago. Finishing in third place in the Premier League this season, signing one of the best players in world football, if not the best at the moment, will most likely cost them their lives. fight at the top instead of top 4.
