Due to Cristiano Ronaldo's notorious departure from United and Anthony Martial's ongoing fitness issues, Erik ten Hag has made the number 9 striker position one of his primary priority.

According to Manchester Evening News, Eriksen will have the ideal opportunity to promote Manchester United to the young player this week as Denmark competes in the Euro qualifiers.

The 20-year-old Hojlund put his name on the lists of numerous teams, including ten Hag's, in March after scoring a hat-trick in his maiden international start for Denmark.

Since joining Atalanta in August of last year, he has also made an impression, making 32 appearances and tallying 9 goals in the Italian top division.

Hojlund is said to be a United supporter and, if Eriksen's charms are successful, may replace his idol from boyhood, Cristiano Ronaldo.

Hojlund shown caution in a recent interview with Tipsbladet when asked about joining ten Hag's team.

It's a big club, so if there are rumors that they want me, I must have done something great. We must wait and see," he remarked.

According to what everyone is hearing, quite a few strikers could experience a lot of change this summer because many clubs are hunting for a Number 9.

Since it became known that he had hired a new agency who also happens to represent Manchester United boss Ten Hag, suspicion has only been worse.

The Old Trafford supporters have already taken a shine to Eriksen since he joined Manchester United at the start of this season on a three-year deal from Brentford.

Although he has only twice shared the field with Hojlund for Denmark, the 31-year-old has the breadth of experience and firsthand knowledge of ten Hag's Manchester United project to offer wise counsel to his countryman.

Harry Kane has also been mentioned as a potential striker for Manchester United, but Real Madrid's interest and Daniel Levy's alleged opposition to selling to a Premier League competitor are making this possibility less likely.
