John Stones' change at Manchester City has made him one of the best defenders in the world, but just three years ago Wolverhampton Wanderers fans didn't think he was good enough for them.
There's no doubting Stones' importance to City's incredible success this season, with a moment in the FA Cup final showing just how much of a complete player he has become.
To be fair, calling him a defender is confusing in the 3-2-4-1 system that Pep Guardiola currently uses for Man City.
Stones has played as part of a midfield pairing up front alongside Rodri and there's little he can't do right now.

That hasn't always been the case with the former Everton defender, who has been heavily criticized in the past, even being taunted by a League Two striker. In 2017, Guardiola even felt compelled to defend the player because of his role in the team's Champions League elimination at the hands of Bayern Munich.
But in the summer of 2020, Stones is said to be leaving Man City with the arrivals of Ruben Dias and Nathan Ake, with Wolves among those interested.

However, it seems that the club's fans are not very happy with their team's potential £20m spend on the England international, as evidenced by the comments going viral on social media.
John Stones is said to be worth £20m
“He is a slow David Luiz without being aggressive. One passive. Call me old fashioned, but I like a defender who can be trusted to defend, not just dribble past an attacker into his box and lose him!!! “, one fan explained.

"He's always making mistakes - defo won't start before Coady [Coady] or [Willy] Boly," a second said seriously.
"No, not good enough for us," the third said simply.
The fourth was equally outspoken, adding:
"No, thanks. I don't apologize for wanting better and I trust Nuno to deliver better."
“If we buy him, on the strict condition that he is a lot behind Coady in ranking order,” another commented.

One of them abruptly rejected him, replying:
"Never in a month has there been a Sunday. Sweet and unnecessary."
