After a 23-year-old lady said he sexually assaulted her in a restroom at the Sutton club, the 40-year-old has been in detention since January 20.
Alves' request to be released from custody on remand was denied in February. Alves previously played for Barcelona, Juventus, and Paris Saint-Germain.
This Thursday, judges at Barcelona's supreme court rejected an appeal against this ruling.
According to Marca, there are worries that Alves will flee if released, possibly returning to Brazil as that country doesn't extradite people to foreign countries.
Following the passing of his wife Joana Sanz's mother, Alves was held in January after taking a flight from Mexico, where he was playing for UNAM Pumas, back to Spain.
Alves said he had never met his accuser in a TV interview before being detained, but he later changed his tale. He asserts that everything was consensual and that there was no sexual assault.
Alves said on the Cuatro show "En Boca de todos," as quoted by Marca, "Only two people know what happened and most importantly what didn't happen" after this week's bail denial.
I am being completely honest. Everyone seems to understand that I sought to rescue my marriage, which is why I initially said what I did.

Alves continued, "I went to the police from Mexico of my own free will and I refused to go to Brazil, a country that would not have assisted Spain in my surrender.

In a social media post from March, Sanz appeared to indicate that she had broken up with the footballer, who had been fired by UNAM after his detention.
It will take years to remove from my memory his manner of looking at me, she wrote in a handwritten letter that she later released, adding, "Here is a strong woman moving on to the next stage of her life."
