This summer, the Blues have been connected to a variety of goalkeeper targets, including Leeds' Illan Meslier, Andre Onana of Inter, Mike Maignan of AC Milan, and Mike Maignan of Inter.

However, Maignan is apparently disinterested in a move, and the Blues appear to have moved their emphasis to the Seagulls' Spanish goalkeeper in addition to other possibilities.

At the end of the season, Jason Steele took Sanchez's place in the starting lineup when Roberto Di Zerbi said he preferred to stay at home rather than sit on the bench.

However, it does not appear that Sanchez's antics at the Amex Stadium have hampered the Blues' interest, as they now

Last season, with Mendy out of the lineup, the most expensive goalkeeper in the world appeared to assume the No. 1 jersey, but this is not believed to be a long-term change for the Spaniard at the club.

According to Sky Italia, Chelsea is keeping an eye on Sanchez's status because it's believed that Brighton would be willing to allow the Spaniard leave this summer.

Although the 25-year-old's contract still has two years left, delaying another year could result in the stopper leaving on his own after 2024.

According to reports, the Blues have already set up conversations with Onana and are looking into the idea of a swap deal in which players like Kalidou Koulibaly and Romelu Lukaku would transfer in the opposite direction.

The Cameroonian is valued by Inter.

Robert and I spoke before the Arsenal game, and we determined that staying at home was the best course of action,' De Zerbi said on the morning of the trip to St. James' Park, after the Spaniard was left out of the matchday squad.

He makes all decisions. Robert makes a decision, and as of right now, it is as said. He preferred this outcome above mine or the club's.

The goalkeeper had been Brighton's first choice in goal until early March, when Steele replaced him. Since then, he has been limited to FA Cup appearances and covering for the former Sunderland player when injured.

Despite losing to Aston Villa on the final day of the season, Brighton nonetheless finished sixth and qualified for the Europa League in his absence.
