Several African players have shown impressive performances for their respective teams during the 2022/2023 season. Victor Osimhen is the highest rated scorer with 31 goals in 39 matches for Napoli in all competitions. He was the top scorer in Serie A and helped Napoli win the championship.

Osimhen can be considered the best striker in Serie A and he is also in the top of the most valuable players in the world. Napoli paid a hefty fee for the Nigerian striker and he has maintained very consistent form since joining the Serie A giants. Liverpool and Egypt striker Salah is also among the most highly rated African players in the 2022/2023 season. Salah has scored 29 goals and has 15 assists in 50 games for the Reds in all competitions this season. He has scored more than 20 goals per season since joining Liverpool. Despite the poor performance in the 2022/2023 season, Salah helped the Red Devils finish in 5th place in the Premier League table.

Riyad Mahrez, Onana, Koulibaly and Bennacer are the most highly rated African players in the 2022/2023 season. Here is the composition of the most highly rated African players in the 2022/2023 season

Manchester City have just won their first treble and first Champions League title in their history, but Pep Guardiola's side are nonetheless prepared for a summer of serious change.

After all, change is the only constant in life, and even the reigning kings of Europe will be subject to personnel changes. Not all of them will be picked by City, amid rumors that some stars are looking for a new challenge from the Etihad.

Guardiola's plans will largely depend on City's ability to convince several stars to stay, although it looks like at least one key player will leave in the next few weeks. There will also be more opportunities for talent from the academy to appear in the first team, although the club have relied heavily on new investment to rebuild their rankings over the years. Daily Star Sport looks at the sea of ??opportunities ahead of the Blues and the type of water they will be catching this summer.

What do they need?

The answer to this question will only become clear when the club knows better who is certain to be at the Etihad next season. Specifically, Guardiola will be eager to know what Ilkay Gundogan, Bernardo Silva and Riyad Mahrez plan to do for the 2023/24 campaign.

Gundogan, 32, is undoubtedly the most hasty of them all as his contract expires at the end of June. That's not to mention the key role he's played this season, taking on a higher leadership role and wearing the captain's armband throughout their treble.

Where does Manchester City need to strengthen the most this summer? Let us know in the comments section below.

Then there is the case of wingers Riyad Mahrez and Bernardo Silva, who have been linked with moves to Al-Ahli and Paris Saint-Germain, respectively. Needless to say, a replacement capable of playing on the right will be needed if either or both are to leave, with Mahrez and Silva's contracts running until 2025. However, the departure of Silva in particular could complicate matters further, as the Portugal international has become something of a fickle in several areas this season. This conundrum will be exacerbated if Gundogan is also gone, increasing the need for midfield additions.

Homegrown talent Rico Lewis has proved surprisingly adept at the center of the pitch later this season, while young players like Maximo Perrone (20) and Cole Palmer (21) could be. get to play more. about the fate of the aforementioned trio.

Arsene Wenger has recently had his say on City's aging squad and the need to rejuvenate - depending on what Guardiola is trying to achieve. Speaking to beIN SPORTS, the former Arsenal manager said:

"I must say that I have also thought about the celebration:

What are you doing in the city now? Are you leaving for a new challenge? Motivating you for a new challenge?

"Or do you stay, enjoy the credit and continue to develop this team? They could lose important players. This team is not an old team but there are no young players either. Aside from [Erling] Haaland, now 22, everyone else is between 24 and 32. Therefore, two or three new players will need to be changed. They have to find the same quality."

Who are they (supposedly) targeting?

City have missed out on one of their top targets and perhaps the most coveted midfielder in the world after Real Madrid confirmed the purchase of Jude Bellingham. This could increase City's chances of winning Croatia's Mateo Kovacic.
