Every Premier League club MUST execute one deal during the summer transfer window.
Declan Rice, Folarin Balogun, Kylian Mbappe, Josko Gvardiol, and Harry Kane could all be on the move this summer... as another frantic transfer season opens.
Fans of all 20 Premier League clubs will be hoping to recruit a quality player (or two) this summer, with the transfer window being officially open.
Manchester City won the Premier League, FA Cup, and Champions League this season, but Pep Guardiola will be seeking to make a move in the transfer market as well. As usual, the summer promises to be full of long-running sagas and startling rumors.
Each manager will have a shortlist and a priority signing, but who will they be looking for? Mirror Football has identified one player who every Premier League club must sign this summer. This story is likely to spark some discussion in the comments section...
Declan Rice, Arsenal
An obvious choice. West Ham chairman David Sullivan has already revealed Rice, 24, will be leaving the London Stadium this summer, raising the ire of Arsenal and Manchester United. He will very certainly cost more than £100 million, but that will not deter the Gunners.
Matteo Guendouzi plays for Aston Villa.
Who remembers Guendouzi from Arsenal? The 24-year-old Frenchman left the Emirates in the summer of 2020 after falling out of favor with Mikel Arteta, but he has rebuilt his career at Marseille, even appearing for France at last year's World Cup in Qatar.
Guendouzi's resurgence has piqued the interest of a number of clubs, including Villa. Unai Emery, who coached Guendouzi at Arsenal, likes the energetic midfielder and is in need of reinforcements ahead of a Europa League campaign.
Alex Scott of Bournemouth
After two outstanding seasons with Bristol City, the 19-year-old is one of the Championship's most sought-after players. Scott was a member of England's U19 Euros winning team in 2022 and was just voted the Championship's Young Player of the Season.
The midfielder is thought to be available for £25 million. Bournemouth are intrigued, according to the Daily Mail.
Caoimhin Kelleher of Brentford
The Bees may be looking for a new goalkeeper, with a number of clubs interested in David Raya. According to The Athletic, Kelleher, 24, is ready to leave Liverpool in search of first-team play, and if Raya left, there will be a space at Brentford.
James Milner plays for Brighton.
Liverpool released the veteran, 37, and he is poised to join Brighton. After selling Alexis MacAllister to Liverpool... of all teams... the Seagulls must complete this transaction. Moises Caicedo could possibly leave before the end of the season.
Nathan Tella plays for Burnley.
The 23-year-old winger was instrumental in Burnley's Championship title-winning season, scoring 17 league goals, but has since returned to Southampton.
Chelsea - Kylian Mbappe
Since Todd Boehly's takeover a year ago, Chelsea has become a ludicrous club, so why not make a stupid suggestion? Mbappe, 24, will be available for transfer if he does not sign a one-year contract extension with Paris Saint-Germain by July 31.
Since Boehly's takeover, the Blues have been the top spenders in Europe, and they are expected to maintain spending despite the danger of Financial Fair Play (FFP). They also require a striker. Don't be surprised if they make a bold move for Mbappe.
Manchester United - Harry Kane
Man Utd boss Erik ten Hag must replace Cristiano Ronaldo following his exit in November. Wout Weghorst was not good enough to replace the five-time Ballon d'Or winner... but Kane is. The England captain, 29, has just bagged another 30 Premier League goals.
Kane has one year remaining on his Tottenham contract and could be made available for transfer later in the window if he refuses to sign a new deal. The big question is whether Man Utd are willing to play the waiting game for him? They should be.
