Chelsea set to 'offer Juventus FIVE players in swap deal for £68m forward Dusan Vlahovic'
Chelsea is reportedly set to initiate discussions with Juventus regarding a potential transfer for Dusan Vlahovic and is willing to offer five players as part of the deal. The 23-year-old Serbian forward, who joined Juventus in January 2022, is rumored to be unhappy at the club due to Massimiliano Allegri's defensive style of play and is seeking a move away.
Chelsea has expressed their interest in signing Vlahovic, who is currently valued at £68 million by Juventus. However, the Premier League club will face competition from Bayern Munich, as the Bundesliga side is also monitoring Vlahovic's situation.
According to reports from Gazzetta via Football Italia, Chelsea is looking to sweeten the deal by including five players in their offer to Juventus. The players mentioned are Christian Pulisic, Ruben Loftus-Cheek, Trevoh Chalobah, Romelu Lukaku, and Kalidou Koulibaly.
Chelsea is in urgent need of a new striker after struggling to score goals in the 2022-2023 campaign. Despite spending over £300 million in the January transfer window, they failed to acquire a genuine center forward. Their goal tally in the league has been surpassed by only three other clubs, and no player has scored more than nine goals across all competitions.
It is expected that Mauricio Pochettino, who is likely to become the next Chelsea manager, has made signing a world-class number nine a top priority. Vlahovic is reportedly at the top of their target list, having impressed during his time at Fiorentina before joining Juventus. Chelsea had previously shown interest in bringing Vlahovic to Stamford Bridge before his move to Juventus last January, but they were beaten to his signature.
While Chelsea is keen on securing Vlahovic's services, they face competition from other clubs such as Bayern Munich and Atletico Madrid. If Vlahovic does make the move to Stamford Bridge, he will be expected to make a significant impact at a club that finished 12th in the Premier League table last season.
