When his contract at the San Siro expires, the Slovakian center defender is expected to sign at Paris Saint-Germain after reaching an agreement with the French club in January.

His six years with the Nerazzurri came to an end in heartbreaking defeat on Saturday as Rodri's goal in the second half led the Italian team to a 1-0 setback in Istanbul.

Skriniar was benched since he wasn't totally healthy and has had trouble with injuries all season.

The 28-year-old also acknowledged that his team's inability to win the championship game of Europe's top club competition will probably have an adverse effect on them in the long run.

The setback will trouble us for a long time, the Slovakian international remarked, adding that it was a sad way to part ways.

"We had a great performance and deserved more. We came so close to taking home the trophy."

We're pleased with our performance during the match. We'll see what happens in Paris; what matters is that I maintain my physical fitness.

Several offers were made to Skriniar last season, but Inter rejected them, probably believing they could persuade their player to sign a contract extension.

The club's star center back is about to leave without generating any revenue, though, because there is no agreement between the player and the organization.

After a challenging season, PSG will be eager to gauge the player's fitness this summer.
"I was playing on one leg in the second leg of the Porto tie; it was impossible to do more." I would have run the danger of suffering a really terrible injury, the 28-year-old said.

"I'd never missed this much time from play before, and I tried to get back to full fitness in training, but it's not the same as match fitness," I said. I've spent the previous three weeks working out with Inter, so I'm prepared and focused.

According to rumours, Christophe Galtier has been fired as manager of PSG, hence the team is in transition.

After declaring he wouldn't be signing a new contract with the team, Kylian Mbappe is likely to follow Lionel Messi out the door. Neymar's future is also up in the air.
