Real Madrid and Bayern Munich have shown interest in Havertz, who has two years left on his contract and just 32 goals and 15 assists in 139 games across all competitions. Arsenal is looking to bolster Mikel Arteta's front line for the upcoming season.

According to sources that spoke with 90min, Arsenal has spoken with Chelsea about a potential summer transfer for German attacker Kai Havertz.

This summer, Havertz will begin the final two years of his Chelsea deal. While the Blues would want to keep him at Stamford Bridge, they would consider selling him for the right sum of money.

Chelsea is thought to be seeking to recoup almost all of the more than £70 million they paid to buy Havertz in 2020, and this position has already caused Real Madrid, another potential suitor, to withdraw from a deal.

Arsenal is the next to reach out regarding Havertz. Sources have verified to 90min that discussions have taken place between the representatives of the players and the Gunners, and that the two clubs have also held preliminary discussions.

Chelsea used the occasion to reiterate their demands, notably their unwillingness to pay any salary necessary to facilitate a move. The Blues are sure that they will keep Havertz, 24, if their asking price is not fulfilled and are not looking to give him go.

After three turbulent seasons and a disappointing 32 goals and 15 assists in 139 games in all competitions, Havertz is thought to be open to leave Chelsea this summer.

Bundesliga powerhouse Bayern Munich, who attempted to recruit Havertz before his 2020 move to Chelsea but were unsuccessful, are still interested in the German international and are thought to be the player's favourite location.

It is unclear if Bayern Munich will spend unduly on Havertz, but the fact that they are interested in both Juventus' Dusan Vlahovic and Eintracht Frankfurt's Randal Kolo Muani suggests that, if necessary, they are prepared to deplete their financial reserves.
