One year later, Paris Saint-Germain appear to be serious.

The desire to sign great names when they were past their prime has diminished, and has been replaced by a desire to start young and put faith in discovering talent in a city with as much wealth as Paris.

In addition to the departures of Lionel Messi, 35, and Sergio Ramos, 37, one-time wonderkid Julian Draxler, 29, is still on their books six years after signing, and Kylian Mbappe, like he did last summer, has put them in a precarious position regarding his future. The French publication L'Equipe claims that PSG has since experienced a sense of "betrayal" and is prepared to issue an ultimatum: either sign the deal or quit.

That is the revolution PSG is currently dealing with. a change from seasoned stars to promising youthful prospects.

PSG sources have been quoted as recommending a three-pronged strategy of "youth, with French nationality, and team-oriented" in local media.

To replace Ramos, who is nine years older than him, the Slovakian center back Milan Skriniar will be joining on a free transfer, and PSG have beaten off Chelsea for the services of the 22-year-olds Kang-in Lee and Manuel Ugarte.

Another free agent that PSG is anticipated to sign this summer is 27-year-old Marco Asensio.
