Matt Ritchie is staying for another season.
The club has announced that Ciaran Clark is departing Newcastle this month.
The 33-year-old defender joined the Magpies from Aston Villa in August 2016 and was voted player of the year as they achieved promotion back to the Premier League in his first season. He spent the previous season on loan at Sheffield United.
Throughout his stint at St. James' Park, which ends this month with the expiration of his contract, Clark went on to make 127 appearances.
Matty Longstaff, a graduate of the academy, is also going, but he will continue to undergo treatment at the club for an anterior cruciate ligament injury sustained before the end of 2022.
The 23-year-old, who has spent time on loan at Aberdeen, Mansfield, and Colchester, scored the game-winning goal on his Premier League debut against Manchester United in October 2019 and went on to play 20 times for the club.
The 33-year-old Matt Ritchie will remain with the team for another season after the club exercised an option to keep him on staff. Paul Dummett and Loris Karius have also received contract offers.
Mark Gillespie's contract has an option that Newcastle has exercised to keep him for an additional year, while Dan Burn, a defender, has an appearance clause that allows him to extend his contract by an additional year.
After spending the second half of the previous season on loan with Steve Cooper's team, striker Chris Wood will make his move to Nottingham Forest permanent at the beginning of the following month.
Callum Wilson revealed being dropped by both Newcastle and England fuelled his determination to fight back.
The striker’s post-World Cup slump saw him confined to the bench at Newcastle as he scored just once in 13 appearances.
It also saw him left out of the opening Euro 2024 qualifying wins over Ukraine and Italy in March.
