Richarilson signed with Tottenham during the 2022 summer transfer window for a cost that could top £60 million, although his first season with the Lilywhites saw him mainly fall short of expectations.

The Brazilian scored just one goal for the team in 27 Premier League games during the 2022–23 season, but he did score two more during their UEFA Champions League run.

Richarlison has been linked with a move to Real Madrid despite his lackluster performance last season, in part because of his friendship with manager Carlo Ancelotti (the two previously worked together at Everton).

When asked about these connections during a press conference while on international duty, Richarlison responded, "Real Madrid is the biggest club in the world and every player wants to play for Real Madrid.

However, I already have a club and a contract, so I need to justify why Tottenham paid so much for me. However, every player hopes to play for Real Madrid.

Richarlison hasn't displayed much form at the club level, but during the past year, he has excelled for Brazil. The 26-year-old managed to score 10 goals in 10 games while serving as the Selecao's starting striker in 2022, including three goals during the FIFA World Cup in Qatar.

Under the new Tottenham boss Ange Postecoglou, the striker will be trying to rediscover his club-level ability to score goals on a consistent basis. The Australian joins the team after playing for Celtic for two incredibly successful seasons, where he developed a reputation for an all-action, attacking style of play.

Last Saturday, when City defeated Inter 1-0 in Istanbul to win the Champions League for the first time, both players sat on the sidelines. Rodri's goal in the second half was the difference.

Walker entered the game later than many had anticipated since Pep Guardiola decided to start Manuel Akanji, John Stones, Ruben Dias, and Nathan Ake in the back four. Mahrez served as a stand-in.

The present contracts for both players at the Etihad Stadium have 12 months left on them, but extensions are not currently being discussed.

Despite not starting the championship, Walker, 33, is still a crucial component of Pep Guardiola's plans and is reportedly contemplating his alternatives.
