Away against Vincent Kompany's Burnley, Manchester City will start their quest for a record-breaking fourth straight Premier League championship.

The 2023–24 season will begin that evening, August 11, when the Treble winners go to Turf Moor to take on the newly promoted team of their former captain.

It will be Kompany's second encounter with his former team as a manager after City defeated them 6-0 at the Etihad in the FA Cup quarterfinal in March. Kompany won the championship four times as City's captain.

Luton, which is making their Premier League debut, will face Roberto De Zerbi's Brighton on August 12 at an away encounter, delaying their first home game until the following weekend.

Sheffield United, the other promoted team, opens their campaign at home against Crystal Palace.

The most notable game of the opening weekend will take place at Stamford Bridge on Sunday, August 13, when Mauricio Pochettino takes over as Chelsea manager versus Liverpool. Both teams are hoping to rebound following poor seasons.

Following a lackluster conclusion to their title defense last season, Arsenal will kick off their Champions League qualifying campaign at home on Saturday at noon against Nottingham Forest, while Newcastle will host Aston Villa that evening and Manchester United will face Wolves at Old Trafford on Monday, August 14.

Ange Postecoglou's first game in charge of Tottenham is at 2 p.m. on Sunday against Brentford, Bournemouth kicks out at home against West Ham, the champions of the Europa Conference League, and Everton, trying to escape a third straight relegation battle, opens at Fulham.

On September 23, Spurs will travel to Arsenal (returning on April 27), and on October 7, Man City will visit the Emirates for a matchup of the top two teams from the previous season.

The first Manchester derby since City and United both won the Triple in 1999 will take place on October 28 at Old Trafford (United visit the Etihad on March 2). On November 25, the champions will play Jurgen Klopp's Liverpool.
