After speaking with Vinincius Jr., FIFA's president urges for a "zero tolerance" stance to racism.

Gianni Infantino, the president of FIFA, maintains that there should be "zero tolerance" for racism and has urged referees at all levels to halt games if incidents take place.

Infantino called the racists "criminals" and said that the football authorities had to "shoulder responsibility." Infantino met with Vinicius Jr. of Real Madrid to discuss the issue after the Brazil international spoke out after being harassed this season.

After Vinicius was targeted during the LaLiga loss at Valencia, Real Madrid filed a complaint with the Spanish State Attorney General's Office last month, saying the racial abuse of the player constituted a hate crime.

After meeting Vinicius and the rest of the Brazil team in Barcelona, Infantino said, "It's important not just to talk about racism and discrimination, but to take action in a decisive and convincing manner - zero tolerance."

"There can be no football if there is racism, so let's call an end to the matches."

"In FIFA competitions, the referees have this option since we have this procedure for ending the game, and steps must be taken at all levels, including the national level.

It's a football-related issue, therefore we shouldn't look for justifications like, "It's a society issue, so it's okay in football." We need to be really strong when it comes to football.

"We want to expose racists on social media and in stadiums." They are delinquents. They must be prohibited from stadiums all around the world.

"We will tell each of them that the law enforcement needs to bring these people before the court." Racism is illegal.

In order to make precise proposals, Infantino stated that FIFA would form a task force with Vinicius playing a significant role.
