STALE SOLBAKKEN HAS NO PROBLEM WITH ERLING HAALAND'S CELEBRATIONS OF HIS TREBLE

Before Saturday's match against Scotland, Norway manager Stale Solbakken jokingly said that if Jack Grealish could train for England, then he need not worry about Erling Haaland's treble celebrations.

After Manchester City won the Champions League final the previous weekend, Solbakken saw that Haaland needed to celebrate his accomplishments with the team.

This week, Solbakken has been more focused on ensuring that Haaland rests, and he feels that a warm welcome from his home crowd would encourage his star player during the Euro 2024 qualifier in Oslo.

After beating Inter in Istanbul, City celebrated in Ibiza before extending the celebration on a bus parade in Manchester on Monday, with Grealish fully participating in the fun.

Solbakken responded, "I think everyone understands that and I also think it's a good idea to do that," when asked how the Norwegians felt about the pre-game chaos.Because, regardless of how good you are, if you claim that (Pep) Guardiola is the best manager in the world and that he has accomplished the treble once in Spain and once in England, even when he had the best players playing for the biggest clubs with the biggest budgets, you might assume that this would occur more frequently. However, it doesn't because it's so, so challenging. You cannot, in my opinion, postpone such a celebration. When these national competitions are completed, you can't suggest meeting up in the summer.

He didn't appear to have taken the Grealish route when he arrived here. Grealish ought to be able to train for us if he was able to do it for England the first time.

Only one of the 53 goals scored by Haaland this season have come on an international stage, but the 22-year-old hasn't competed for his nation since September, and Solbakken thinks an enthused home crowd will help him overcome his busy schedule.

Since he hasn't played in Norway in a while and didn't take part in the two international matches earlier this year, the crowd's affection will be his biggest gift, according to the former Wolves and Copenhagen boss.
