A Liverpool player signed by Jurgen Klopp in 2018 has yet to make his debut - five years after first joining the Merseyside club.

Klopp has enjoyed a high rate of transfer success during his tenure at Liverpool, with Virgil van Dijk, Alisson, Sadio Mane and Mohamed Salah being key players for the Red Devils in recent seasons.

Of course, there have been unsuccessful deals, including the £52m signing of Naby Keita, who will leave the club on a free transfer when his contract expires at the end of the month.

In addition to big signings, Klopp is also focused on signing young talent, with Fabio Carvalho, Harvey Elliott and Stefan Bajcetic all brought to Anfield during the German manager's time.

But while these three players contributed to varying degrees last season, another young player is still awaiting his debut. In 2018, Liverpool completed the recruitment of defender Anderson Arroyo from Colombian team Fortaleza after impressing in the South American Under-20 youth tournament.

Notably, the defender remains at Liverpool but has not made his debut, after being on loan at a number of clubs.

The 23-year-old can play at centre-back and right-back having joined Mallorca in La Liga 2 on an 18-month loan after joining the Red Devils. He was assigned to the B team during his time at the club.

That deal was dropped shortly after, with the defender joining Belgian giants Ghent. However, he did not appear for the club.

Followed by the next loan term at Czech side Mlada Boleslav of Spanish third tier club Salamanca. He then moved to a team in Spain for the 2021/22 season, joining Mirandes.

It was a surprise to see the defender sign a new contract with Liverpool until 2025 last summer.

He then joined Spanish second division side Alaves on loan and made 22 appearances for the club. He could help them get back into La Liga if they beat Levante in the second leg play-off final on Saturday with a 0-0 draw.

The reason why Arroyo has been loaned out repeatedly is because he has not yet received a work permit to play in England.

However, Liverpool.com claims he could win a title if he plays in La Liga next season or joins the Colombian national team.

Therefore, Liverpool will certainly try to win against Alaves' Levante this weekend.
