Enzo Maresca has been named the next manager of Leicester, with a contract that runs through 2026.

Prior to his arrival at the King Power Stadium, the 43-year-old Italian was a member of Pep Guardiola's coaching team at Manchester City.

Dean Smith, who took over for the remaining eight games of the 2022–23 season after Brendan Rodgers' departure, failed to stop Leicester from being relegated from the Premier League. Dean Smith is replaced by Maresca.

"I'm very excited because of the club (I'm joining) and because we have a big season ahead of us," Maresca said on the official website of Leicester.Starting out, our goal is to play as well as we can.

The most crucial thing is to strive to win games, and from there, we can create our notion and philosophy day by day.

"First and foremost, we're going to give it our all, without a doubt, because the club deserves it. That is our responsibility and our job. Then, as I mentioned, we will undoubtedly get better day by day and step by step.

"Enzo brings a combination of personality, method, and ambition that meets extremely well with the footballing direction we are looking to take," stated Leicester chairman Aiyawatt Srivaddhanaprabha. His ideology is in line with the goals we have for this subsequent chapter in Leicester City's history and was developed over the course of a long and varied career that included an amazing education as a coach.

We have noticed Enzo's profile for some time, and this impression was only strengthened after meeting him and hearing about his excitement for the task at hand. I am confident that our fans will embrace him with open arms, and that by working together, we can reorient the team toward success in the future.

Maresca, a former midfielder for West Brom, Juventus, Sevilla, Olympiacos, and Malaga, returned to Manchester City last summer for a second stint with the team. Maresca also served as an assistant coach at West Ham under Manuel Pellegrini.

Prior to leaving for what turned out to be a brief stay as Parma manager, he was in charge of their elite development squad for the 2020–21 season, during which they won the Premier League 2 title.
