Slovenian striker Ester Sokler has signed a three-year contract with Aberdeen.

The 24-year-old, who leaves NK Radomlje for an unknown price, joins the Dons as their third hire of the summer, joining Leighton Clarkson and Nicky Devlin as the club's first two newcomers in as many days.

Last season, Sokler scored 10 goals in 30 games for Radomlje.

"Ester is a striker with all the key attributes needed to be a success here and he further strengthens our attacking options for next season," Aberdeen manager Barry Robson said on the club's official website.

He is another excellent illustration of our entire recruitment approach, which involves exploring further afield for players we believe can have a positive influence here. He fits the profile of the striker we were looking for and is someone who can continue to develop in the right environment.

After receiving a Governing Body Endorsement on Thursday, Sokler will formally join the Aberdeen team, pending satisfactory completion of the UK immigration process.

With the addition of seasoned striker Adam Le Fondre on an initial one-year contract, according to Lee Johnson, Hibernian have brought "craft" and "nous" to their assault.

The 36-year-old Englishman, who has scored 273 goals in his career, recently left Australian club Sydney, where he spent the majority of the previous five years, and joins the cinch Premiership team.

Le Fondre played for a variety of English clubs before making the switch to the A-League in 2018. His most productive stints were at Rochdale, Rotherham, and Reading, where he was coached by Brian McDermott, the current director of football of Hibs.

"Adam brings craft to our new frontline, and his experience and nous in the game will help develop our younger strikers," Hibs manager Johnson said.

He has a history of scoring goals throughout his career, and his physical condition is good. We are eager to collaborate with him.

Le Fondre's presence will aid in filling the vacuum left by Scotland striker Kevin Nisbet, who was recently acquired by Millwall. Le Fondre's contract could be extended by another year at the discretion of Hibs.
