Liam Fox, a former manager of Dundee United, has rejoined his old team Hearts as their B Team coach.
After Steven Naismith recently volunteered to manage the first squad, the 39-year-old is now in charge of the club's youth teams in the Lowland League.
Fox spent the previous five and a half years coaching Hearts' under-17s, under-20s, reserves, and first team before departing in the summer of 2020. Fox was a Jambos academy graduate and a longtime supporter.
He makes his way back to Tynecastle at the conclusion of a memorable season that saw him endure a discouraging five months as manager of Dundee United before joining Barry Robson's backroom staff at Aberdeen from March until the end of the campaign.
Fox told the Jambos' website, "I'm thrilled to be back at Hearts and can't wait to get going.
Since I started following the team as a young lad, this club has held a special place in my heart. Being a player in the academy system and beginning my coaching career here was an honor, therefore it is a privilege to return and take over as the B Team head coach.I've worked in a variety of coaching positions away from Hearts and have accumulated a lot of experience, so I feel well-qualified to apply those talents to the B Team as well as younger age group players and coaches inside the academy.
It is my responsibility to motivate, encourage, and get the most out of them for the benefit of Heart of Midlothian Football Club as well as for themselves.
Joe Savage, the sporting director, welcomed Fox's return. He declared that the position of B Team manager was crucial to the football division.
"We required a person with a track record of fostering talent and enhancing players. Liam had shown a lot of it during his previous time here, and that has been strengthened by the experience he gained when playing away at Livingston, Dundee United, and Aberdeen.
"Liam was our first target when we were looking for someone to fill the role, so we're thrilled to get him," said the hiring manager.
