This summer, Manchester United is looking to add two new strikers, and Rasmus Hojlund of Denmark's Atalanta are on their short list. Christian Eriksen, a teammate of his at the international level, thinks he has the skills to join him with the Red Devils.
Rasmus Hojlund, a fellow countryman of Manchester United midfielder Christian Eriksen, has the skills to play for the Red Devils, according to Eriksen.
Hojlund, according to 90min, is a striker who Manchester United is interested in signing during the summer transfer window, but Atalanta's asking price of at least €65 million may prove to be a roadblock.
The 20-year-old Hojlund fits into the younger option category of the two attackers Man Utd are trying to sign this summer: one experienced, ready-made forward.
Prior to Friday night's 1-0 victory for Denmark over Northern Ireland, Eriksen, who transferred to Manchester United from Brentford last summer on a free transfer, was questioned about Hojlund's probable move to Old Trafford.
Eriksen told Ekstra Bladet, "I can see him [Hojlund] at Manchester United, but I haven't recommended him to Erik ten Hag."
He is a wonderful person and a talented athlete who has excelled at Atalanta. I won't be able to say what the club decides to do.
"Everyone has an attitude toward Manchester United," Eriksen continued, "so it's a club where there's a huge amount of attention." When I arrived at the club, I made many attempts. I was therefore somewhat aware of the club's magnitude.
Because of the club's current size, it can be quite challenging for younger players that join.
Hojlund had a great first season with Atalanta after joining from Austrian club Sturm Graz only last summer, scoring 10 goals and dishing out four assists in 33 appearances.
Rasmus Hojlund is encouraged by Christian Eriksen to join Manchester United.
