The Barcelona boss has been clear about his desire to recruit Kimmich, who 90min knows has been evaluating his future in Germany. Herbert Hainer has expressed his anger with Xavi's statements on Kimmich.

The head coach of Barcelona, Xavi, has come under fire from Bayern Munich president Herbert Hainer for admitting that he wants to sign midfielder Joshua Kimmich.

Although Kimmich has always been a target for Bayern, 90min has learned that the German's agents have spoken with teams all around Europe, including Barcelona, to evaluate interest in the midfielder.

The 28-year-old is a super top talent who knows the game in a terrific way, and when Xavi was asked about his side's interest in Kimmich last month, he did not hold back in expressing his desire to work with the player. A dialogue with Bayern will take place if the door is open.

Hainer, who recently questioned Xavi's conduct in an interview with Sky Sports Germany, seems to have been irritated by his comments.

First and foremost, I have a lot of respect for Barcelona and Xavi as a player, Hainer stated. But I don't know why they're 'flirting' with our athlete in such a public and insulting way. Joshua Kimmich is unquestionably a pillar for us.

Haimer added: "Joshua is a leader, has won many titles with us and will also continue to win titles with us in the future. I want to keep him. He will undoubtedly figure prominently in our long-term ambitions as one of the team's key players.

The scenario involving Kimmich has attracted the attention of several of Europe's best teams, including Manchester City, who are known fans of the Germany international.

He recently made an effort to quell the rumors about his future, asserting that he still has "big plans" for Bayern.

It was challenging to avoid hearing about the rumors, he admitted to BILD. "In general, I don't put much stock in the rumors.
