Chelsea's failure to participate in any European competitions in the 2022/2023 season means they will have to bring in new signings who will help improve their performance.

A number of players have been linked with Chelsea in the summer 2023 transfer window since it was announced that Mauricio Pochettino would become their new manager.

RB Leipzig forward Christopher Nkunku and Napoli forward Victor Osimhen are their targets for the centre-back position. Nkunku has 23 goals and 9 assists while Osimhen has 31 goals and 5 assists in the 2022/2023 season.

This makes him the perfect combination to play with Chelsea wingers Mykhailo Mudryk and Raheem Sterling up front. In order to strengthen the midfield, the Blues are targeting Brighton central midfielder Moises Caicedo. Caicedo could pair up with Enzo Fernandez in midfield.

Andre Onana is their target for the goalkeeper position. The Cameroonian goalkeeper has kept 19 clean sheets for Inter Milan in 41 matches in the 2022/2023 season.

Here's how Chelsea could line up with Christopher Nkunku, Victor Osimhen and Moises Caicedo if they can sign them.

Real Madrid is arguably the biggest and most supported club in the history of football. So it's no surprise that some of the top players even want to join Los Blancos one day. For some, this dream comes true. For the most part, it is. And it looks like one of Manchester City's targets may have similar aspirations, although a move to the Premier League seems much higher. Manchester City just scored a hat-trick. But it seems Pep Guardiola's men have no intention of stopping and are looking to improve further this summer.

One of the players they contacted was Josko Gvardiol. The Croatian player is considered by many to be the best young defender in the world today.

As Calciomercato.it reports, Manchester City are making big strides towards Gvardiol. RB Leipzig is said to be looking for a transfer fee of around 100 million euros. The Croatian player is still "dreaming" of Real Madrid, but the club has not made any concrete moves for him.

Man City aims for 100 million euros and dreams of Real Madrid

Gvardiol is undoubtedly one of the best young talents in world football at the moment. And he's also arguably the best defender at the World Cup.

However, 100 million euros is a hefty transfer fee and Real Madrid brought in Jude Bellingham in a blockbuster transfer. They also need a world-class striker to replace Karim Benzema in attack. Therefore, it is difficult to see them move to Gvardiol this summer, even if they have been contacted with him many times in the past.

Real Madrid have a lot of options at centre-back at the moment and it's not an essential area, unlike some other places. So Manchester City seems like the most likely destination for Gvardiol.
