During his first tenure as Celtic manager, Rodgers won all seven significant Scottish titles that he was in contention for and finished his inaugural season in 2016–17 unbeaten.

Before the club went through some difficult times, the Lisbon Lions captain initially had a great comeback when he returned to the management hot seat in 1987.
McNeill succeeded his former manager Jock Stein in 1978 following a successful tenure as manager of Aberdeen. During that time, the Dons and Dundee United broke the Old Firm duopoly, and McNeill won three titles in five seasons, along with one Scottish Cup and one League Cup.
Davie Hay was replaced by McNeill following stints with Manchester City and Aston Villa after his former teammate paid the price for a disappointing season against a Rangers club that had been reenergized by Graeme Souness.
After being selected to succeed his fellow Northern Irishman in February 2019, Lennon continued Rodgers' success, although his second term came to an unsatisfactory finish for him as well.
After his first full season in charge, the former Hoops captain won the Scottish Cup in 2011, and he went on to win three more championships until taking home the trophy in 2013.
Celtic's victory over Barcelona in 2012–13 helped them advance to the round of 16, making Lennon the last manager to take them that far.
He completed the clean sweep Rodgers started in 2019 after stints with Bolton and Hibernian, and he was in charge as they finished the quadruple treble in December 2020 after Covid interruptions.
