It has been reported that a bouncer with a machete ejected an England supporter from a pub in Malta.

Friday saw the Three Lions supporters go to Malta for England's most recent Euro 2024 qualifying match, which Gareth Southgate's team won 4-0.

England took the lead in the eighth minute thanks to an own goal, and went on to win easily thanks to goals from Trent Alexander-Arnold, Harry Kane, and Callum Wilson on penalties.

With the win, Southgate's team maintained their perfect record in the Euro 2024 qualifying process. Should they overcome North Macedonia on Monday, they will lead their group by at least six points.

According to local accounts, more than 4,000 England supporters travelled to Malta, and bars all throughout the nation "reported a surge in business."

'A lot of singing' was the only reported event.

The Times reporter Henry Winter did, however, admit that he saw one event that happened in a pub while he was in the nation getting ready to cover the game.

English supporter "chased by bouncer"

Prior to kickoff, Winter claimed on Twitter that personnel at a nearby pub asked an England supporter who was shirtless to put his shirt back on.

When the fan refused, the journalist continued, a bouncer brandishing a sizable machete chased him into the street.

The fan was "fine but a little scared," as Winter put it.

"England fan in a pub in Malta asked to put his shirt back on," read the tweet. He declined. Bouncer approached, produced a huge machete, and dragged him into the street.

Fan was okay but a little frightened. Locals and bar workers barely raised an eyelid.

The five players who helped Manchester City win the treble—Phil Foden, Kalvin Phillips, John Stones, Kyle Walker, and Jack Grealish—did not play against Malta; Foden was the only one to enter as a substitute.
Nevertheless, Southgate gave the impression that some of those players would get the start on Monday night: "It is always difficult picking a team because we have some depth and guys who have all trained well, all presented well, and are all available.

They're [City players] highly essential and talented players for us. We have also analysed the competition to ensure that our team is properly balanced.
