EURO 2024 QUALIFIERS: GROUP TABLES AFTER FRANCE WON 1-0 AND ENGLAND WON 7-0 TODAY

Greece vs. France

Greece's first-half defence was well-planned, despite the fact that France still held the lead. But Kylian Mbappe scored France's first goal from the penalty spot to take the lead. Greece's issue was made worse by the dismissal of Konstantinos Mavropanos.

North Macedonia and England

On the pitch, England outclassed North Macedonia in every way. However, Arsenal striker Bukayo Saka had already achieved his first hat-trick for England before Gareth Southgate made four substitutes. Bukayo Saka, an Arsenal player, is the youngest player to score an England men's hat-trick since Theo Walcott (19 years, 178 days) against Croatia in September 2008, according to BBC Sport. Bukayo Saka is also the first player under 21 to do it. Saka becomes the seventh player to score a hat trick for the men's England side in this century, on a related note. Harry Kane's penalty kick completed the score.

PLAYER RATINGS: Bukayo Saka the star after his hat-trick in England's demolition of North Macedonia

England made it four wins from four in Group C of Euro 2024 qualifying by comfortably dispatching North Macedonia 7-0 at Old Trafford.

Captain Harry Kane got the first just before the half hour mark, before Bukayo Saka made it 2-0 nine minutes later. On the stroke of half-time, Manchester United's Marcus Rashford made it 3-0 at the half-time break.

Saka got two more after the break, to secure his first hat-trick in an England shirt, while Kane got a second from the penalty spot, and Kalvin Phillips also scored.

It was a very comfortable display from England, who continued their dominant form in home qualifiers, and took another step towards next year's European Championships in Germany.

Here, Mail Sport's Dominic King rates the players from England 7-0 North Macedonia:

England 4-3-3

Jordan Pickford 6

Barely touched the ball. This was his 53rd England cap — few have been quieter.

Kyle Walker 7

Cruised through as if it were a training game. Lovely fizzed pass paved the way for Saka to open his account.

John Stones 6.5

In terms of defending, training at City would be more challenging. Won the penalty for England’s seventh.

Harry Maguire 6

First task was to shepherd a ball back in the fourth minute, which he did. Never tested thereafter.

Luke Shaw 7

On the front foot so much in the first half, he looked like a left midfielder. Put Kane’s opening goal on a plate for him.

Declan Rice 7

Booked for a mistimed challenge. No need to persist with him when the game was won.

Trent Alexander-Arnold 7

The No 10 shirt sits comfortably on his shoulders. Great vision and beautiful pass to create Saka’s second.

Jordan Henderson 7

Full of energy and aggression to set the tone. Added gloss to his performance with an assist for Rashford.

Bukayo Saka 9

The young man who always puts a smile on your face. Produced three super finishes.

Harry Kane 8

Nasty clash of heads early on proved no barrier to him scoring for the sixth England game in a row and providing two assists.

Marcus Rashford 8

Relished being on home turf. It felt inevitable he would score in front of the Stretford End.

Gallagher (Henderson, 58min)

Grealish (Rashford, 58)

Foden (Saka, 59)

Manager: Gareth Southgate 7

Spent the week preaching to his squad the importance of this fixture and the level of focus he got from them was exemplary.

Referee: Istvan Kovacs (Romania) 6

Very little to cause him consternation. Let the game run and got every decision right, though Rice may argue his booking was harsh.
