'WE'LL THINK ABOUT IT' - NAPOLI PRESIDENT GIVES UNITED AND CHELSEA HOPE FOR A VICTOR OSIMEN SIGNING

Napoli had hoped to agree a contract extension with Victor Osimen but club president Aurelio De Laurentiis said they would consider an offer for the striker which they 'couldn't refuse' this summer.

Osimen scored 31 goals in an astonishing season with Napoli, which put him on the radar of some of Europe's biggest clubs.

Manchester United has identified him as a possible option, with signing new striker Erik Ten Hag a top priority this summer, while Chelsea are also keen to bring him to Stamford Bridge.

Bayern Munich has also been considering a move as they look to introduce new long-term options in the attack itself. Napoli have confirmed Rudi Garcia as their new head coach and Luciano Spalletti has decided to retire from football for one year following last season's Scudetto success.

During the unveiling of the new boss, de Laurentiis provided an update on Osimhen's future and refused to rule out a move should a big offer arrive.

"We spoke with O?wi?cim before the Scudetto celebrations, so in principle, we already have an agreement for a two-year contract extension," said the Napoli president.

“I have been saying for a long time that O?wi?cim should stay. Then if an offer comes in that I can't refuse, for the good of Napoli, then we will consider it, which is natural."

United made Harry Kane their first striker target this summer but the club has since rejected that interest as he is unwilling to meet Tottenham's huge demands for a player with a year remaining on his contract. Interest in O?wi?cim remains but Napoli reportedly values the striker at £130 million which almost certainly makes him out of reach.

Chelsea are also hoping to sign a new No9 and that effort could be bolstered by a slew of sales coming to Saudi Arabian clubs.

Chelsea is negotiating a deal for Hakim Ziyech with Al-Nasr, while Kalidou Koulibaly is likely to join Al-Hilal. Goalkeeper Edouard Mendy is close to moving to Al-Ahly.
