Ghanaian actress and producer Yvonne Nelson has expressed her disappointment in President Nana Akufo Addo and his government. In a tweet on Sunday, she described the President as a "monumental disappointment."

Nelson, who has been vocal about social issues in the country, expressed her frustration on Twitter by writing: "So I’m wondering, is this “change” really worth it? I mean ....... I’m questioning myself, did we really vote for change? This Akufo Addo government, huge disappointment!"

The actress is known for her advocacy work on issues such as electricity tariffs, Dumsor (a term used to describe power outages in Ghana), and the 'Fix the Country' campaign.

It is not the first time that Nelson has criticized the government. In 2018, she led a peaceful demonstration in Accra to put pressure on the government to fix economic challenges facing the country.

Many Ghanaians on social media have since commented on Nelson's tweet, some in support of her and others criticizing her for her words. Many supporters agreed that the government has not done enough to address the issues they were elected to fix, including youth unemployment and the country's economic hardships.

The government, which has been in power since 2017, has faced criticism over its handling of the COVID-19 pandemic, corruption allegations, and perceived failures in delivering on election promises.

Despite being one of the fastest-growing economies in Africa, Ghana continues to face challenges in poverty reduction and job creation. The country has seen a decline in economic growth due to the pandemic, leading to higher levels of unemployment.

The 'Fix the Country' campaign, which began on social media in May this year, aims to hold the government accountable for its election promises and to demand better governance.

Nelson's remarks are likely to add to the growing public concerns over the government's performance and policies. It remains unclear if the government will respond to her comments or take any action to address the issues raised by Nelson and others calling for change.

Nelson's disappointment in the current administration reflects the frustration that many Ghanaians feel about the current state of the country. While the government has made progress in some areas, there are still significant challenges to be addressed in ensuring a better future for all Ghanaians.
