A year ago
Today (June 20), a few distinguished chiefs from all around the nation will take the stage at the Institute of Economic Affairs (IEA) constitutional review series to provide their perspectives on the continuing conversation to address the demands of the moment.
This is a part of the "Constitutional Review Series" of the IEA, which is regularly organised to give prominent individuals and organisations a forum for deliberation and the exchange of ideas on issues of social, political, and economic concern to the country.
The Paramount Chief of Asokore Asante, Nana Dr. S.K.B. Asante, a renowned scholar, attorney, and specialist in negotiation and arbitration, will preside over today's ceremony.
He has been referred to as the father of the 1992 Constitution and is one of the most revered traditional leaders in the nation.
Speakers
Speaking at the ceremony will be Nana Ogyeahohoo Yaw Gyebi II, President of the National House of Chiefs; Togbe Tepre Hodo IV, President of the Volta Regional House of Chiefs; The Omanhene; and Osagyefo Oseadeeyo Agyeman Badu II, President of the Bono Regional House of Chiefs.
The other two are Nene Sakite II, the president of the Eastern Regional House of Chiefs, and Odeefuo Amoakwa Buadu VIII, the president of the Central Regional House of Chiefs.
These illustrious and well-respected chiefs would discuss a range of topics, including the division of powers, the legislative, the executive, the council of state, the chieftaincy, local government, women's issues, gender issues, resource management, and corruption.

The IEA welcomed the media last week for an interaction that thoroughly covered a variety of topics, including the future role of the National Media Commission, journalistic freedoms, and the executive branch of government in Ghana.
The country's queen moms and other women's rights activists will get their time to speak the following week.
