Hazard makes major announcement as he set for Chelsea return amid shock decision

Eden Hazard, the former Chelsea star who recently departed Real Madrid, has shared insights into the next phase of his career. The 32-year-old forward struggled to find his form at Real Madrid, managing only seven goals since his move in 2019 for a fee that eventually rose to approximately £125 million. Injuries plagued Hazard during his final two years in Spain, limiting his playing time and diminishing his impact on the field. With just 194 minutes of La Liga action last season, he decided to cut short his five-year contract at Santiago Bernabeu.

Under Carlo Ancelotti, players like Vinicius Jr, Rodrygo, and Federico Valverde became preferred options, relegating Hazard to the sidelines. His dribbling prowess, which had been a defining characteristic during his last season in the Premier League, was rarely seen in Spain. Despite ongoing fitness issues, Hazard remains determined to return to the pitch. He expressed his eagerness, stating, "I still feel capable of being a professional footballer, my body can take it. I've been resting for two or three years, so I still have a bit of energy!" However, he remains uncertain about his future, mentioning that he wants to spend time with his family and go on holiday before making any decisions.

Hazard dismissed the speculation surrounding his next move and stated that he is unaware of his future plans.

Since Hazard's departure from the national side, Belgium has experienced significant changes, with manager Roberto Martinez leaving after their early exit from the World Cup group stages. Hazard's retirement signaled the end of Belgium's golden generation, which had thrived during the 2010s. The national team currently faces additional turmoil as Real Madrid goalkeeper and former Chelsea player Thibaut Courtois reportedly went AWOL from the camp. Courtois failed to report for training after the draw against Austria, and a dispute involving him, new head coach Dominic Tedesco, and Romelu Lukaku has escalated. Tedesco expressed shock at Courtois' sudden decision to leave and emphasized his appreciation for the goalkeeper's talents.

Courtois, on the other hand, took to his website to clarify the situation, denying some of the claims made by the coach. He expressed disappointment that a private conversation was shared publicly and highlighted the importance of decisions that benefit the team. He also mentioned undergoing a check-up for a knee problem and the subsequent decision to leave the training camp.

Reports have surfaced that Courtois rejected an offer from Saudi Arabia to continue his European football career, posing a challenge for Chelsea as they attempt to sell their £97.5 million asset.

In summary, Eden Hazard has provided insights into his future plans following his departure from Real Madrid. Despite a difficult stint in Spain, he believes he can still contribute as a professional footballer. However, he remains undecided and wishes to spend time with his family before making any decisions. Meanwhile, Thibaut Courtois' absence from the Belgian national team camp and the subsequent dispute with the coach has created additional upheaval. Courtois rejected an offer from Saudi Arabia and aims to continue playing in Europe, posing a challenge for Chelsea in their attempts to sell him.
