Shorts Car, a Korean Instagram account, has shared images of what appears to be the forthcoming Kia Tasman midsize truck. The typical disguises of a test car obscure the specifics of the vehicle, but one cannot deny its resemblance to the Kia Mohave, Telluride's more rugged cousin.
For those not acquainted with the Mohave, it's the image's body-on-outline SUV, an otherworldly replacement for the long-dead Borrego. Although the most recent version of the Mohave/Borrego is currently available in other nations, it has long since left the market in the United States. If it were still available for purchase in the United States, think of it as a rival to the Toyota 4Runner.
The truck in the most recent spy shots, like the Mohave, has a lot of ground clearance, a squared-off grille, and vertical LED DRLs.
We have seen the alleged Kia truck before, and this is not the first time; In January of this year, it was first observed. It was questioned at the time whether the camouflaged truck was the real thing or just a test mule.
The new photographs seem, by all accounts, to be riding on little wheels, which can be credited to the missing bumper flares. The prototype, on the other hand, appears to be too well assembled to be described as a jumble of Kia's spare parts.
Except for a few details, the unidentified Korean truck is unknown to the general public. Although that moniker is still up for debate at the time of this writing, the name Tasman has already been registered as a trademark in a number of different nations.
A Kia representative has already confirmed that the model will be sold worldwide. The same official from Kia said that the company is thinking about making a Ranger Raptor rival that could use the twin-turbo V6 from the Stinger in addition to competing with regular midsize trucks like the Ford Ranger and Toyota Hilux.
Because its current placeholder name represents the sea that separates Australia and New Zealand, there is a good chance that the Tasman will be released first in these two countries. Given that it will have a ladder-frame chassis, we also anticipate that it will have real truck capabilities, such as the ability to haul heavy loads and tow.
