Gone are the days when politicians would wallow in self-pity and gripe about their losses once they are out of office. Ghana's Asawase MP, Mohammed Mubarak Muntaka, has taken a different approach after losing his position as the Chief Whip of the Minority in Parliament.
The lawmaker has embarked on a new career path as a part-time lecturer at the University of Professional Studies, Accra (UPSA), where he teaches Leadership .In a recent interview with JoyNews' PM Express, Mr. Muntaka expressed his pleasure in sharing his experience with the younger generation, grooming them for the future.
He revealed that teaching was a profession he had always wanted to pursue before his foray into politics. Now that he has more time on his hands, he decided to take on the role as soon as possible.
The former Chief Whip has found his new career path to be a wonderful experience, and he now has quality time to spend with his family and engage in other activities that were previously impossible. He noted that he had underestimated the workload that came with his former role and is now happy to be more relaxed and rested.
While Mr. Muntaka acknowledges that the modus operandi used by his party to remove him from the role is questionable, he is grateful for the opportunities that have come with it. "That is how life is, if youve never gone down and risen, you may find it difficult, but those of us who have fallen and risen several times, you get used to it," he said.
This story is not just about a politician who has found a new career path after losing his position; it's also about the importance of being adaptable in life. While setbacks can be difficult to handle, they can also present opportunities for growth and change.
Mr. Muntaka's decision to take on a new career path is a testament to his resilience and willingness to embrace new opportunities. As we navigate the ups and downs of life, it's important to remember that setbacks are not the end of the road.
Instead, they can be the beginning of a new chapter. Mr. Muntaka's story is an inspiring reminder that with the right mindset and attitude, we can turn even the most challenging situations into opportunities for growth.
