Since they were youngsters and both went through the same phases of the Argentine national team, Aguero and Messi have known one another. They competed on the same team that captured the 2008 Olympic gold medal.
Messi has made it official that he will sign with Inter Miami in the Major League Soccer (MLS) when his contract with PSG expires at the end of the month, passing on a transfer to the Saudi Pro League and a return to Barcelona.
However, Aguero has revealed to ESPN that he has another project lined up for Messi in the future, and that is joining his seven-a-side Kings League squad. Aguero resigned from professional football in 2021 on the recommendation of doctors owing to his cardiac problems.
"We haven't discussed it. Aguero said of Messi joining his team, Kunisports, "I think it's a little tough at the present with the scheduling, but I hope one day he can play for us.
The event has some innovations and strange rules that set it apart from conventional football. For instance, red and yellow cards result in sin-bin eliminations as punishment, and draws are decided by an unconventional penalty shootout from the center circle.
Once per game, teams are also permitted to utilize "secret weapons" or "jokers," with the conditions varying from a free penalty to the roll of a huge novelty die that determines how many members each side must have left behind to win the game.
One of the few ex-pros who took part, Sergio Aguero, said: "It's different from how I experienced the game as a player. It's more about enjoying yourself and making people happy.
