A new contract has been reached for the 33-year-old to remain at the Santiago Bernabeu, 90min reported in April. He first joined the club in 2014, and since then, the capital of Spain has seen him succeed year after year.

Since leaving Bayern, Kroos has participated in 417 games for Real, winning four Champions Leagues, three La Liga championships, as well as various national and international awards.

Together with Casemiro, who left last year for Manchester United, and fellow stalwart Luka Modric, who is also anticipated to stay for another year despite strong interest from Saudi Arabia, he established one of the finest midfield partnerships in history.

The extension of Kroos' contract is more excellent news for manager Carlo Ancelotti, who has a wide range of midfield choices for the 2023–24 season.

In one of the major transfers of the summer, Jude Bellingham moved from Borussia Dortmund, joining Aurelien Tchouameni and Eduardo Camavinga who had previously moved with Real. Dani Ceballos received a ton of playing time last season, while Federico Valverde has grown into one of the top midfielders in the world.

With Karim Benzema going for Saudi Arabian champions Al Ittihad, Real will appear in a different light elsewhere. The contracts of Marco Asensio and Mariano Diaz expired, and Eden Hazard was let go a year early.

While striker Joselu is on loan with the option of a permanent contract next year, Brahim Diaz has returned from his loan with AC Milan and signed a two-year contract.

The midfielder from Croatia, who has one year left on his Stamford Bridge deal, has drawn attention from a number of Premier League clubs.

Liverpool and Manchester United were reportedly considering a summer transfer for Kovacic, according to 90min.

However, Man City quickly became the front-runners to sign the 29-year-old when 90min revealed at the start of June that they had reached a personal agreement.

And now, sources have indicated that Man City and Chelsea have reached an agreement in which the latter would pay a sum that, subject to add-ons, may reach £30 million.
