After confirming the signing of Jude Bellingham from Borussia Dortmund, Real Madrid now have a fearsome depth to their midfield options.
Besides Bellingham, Carlo Ancelotti will also have his choice of Luka Modric, Toni Kroos, Federico Valverde, Eduardo Camavinga and Aurelien Tchouameni, while Dani Ceballos is also expected to stay at the club this summer.
With that in mind, a few of these players could play a minor role at Real Madrid next season, and Tchouameni will likely be one of the fewer. Manchester United legend Rio Ferdinand hopes this could allow his former side to sign the France international, according to Metro.
“In midfield, I will look for Tchouameni. He will be the one not playing (at Real Madrid). He's an odd man at the moment. He will be a big step (for Man United). "
Tchouameni, who signed for Real Madrid last summer, has repeatedly been tipped to leave in recent weeks. However, it would be surprising to see him leave the Spanish capital after just a year.
