WHY DO PEOPLE DO EVANGELISM, AND IS IT RIGHT OR WRONG?

I  agree that, it is a right idea to do evangelism. Because, I do not agree that evangelism is wrong, since Evangelism by definition is the spreading of one's faith to his/ her neighbour  just like a Christian shares the message and teachings of Jesus Christ to people around his environment, and I see nothing  wrong with that. Evangelism is a very significant function in spreading the Gospel as significant as the role of the Evangelist in the Five fold Ministry to continue and fulfil God's Great Commission to mankind. Hence, I believe that the manner and the approach to sharing the Word have a great impact on  the person you are trying to reach out to. Because the manner of sharing may break the goal or intention of winning souls for the Lord.

We are living in a world that is full of wickedness, hurting, and filled with people suffering from depression and they need Jesus in their lives. They need to hear about Jesus’ forgiveness, love, mercy, and grace. Yet, many have become resentful against Christians evangelism just because some, or maybe a lot have experienced that there are Christians who are only out to beat people with Scriptures or forcefully push the Bible onto the world in an unloving manner or condemn their unrighteous behaviour and this makes them scornful and unforgiving; rather than gracious and merciful.

I again believe that you can share your testimony of God's work in your life to people who need God's grace and love and it will be a powerful evangelism. Though, people can sometimes argue over conflicts of opinions and beliefs, but no one can argue against your testimony because you are the expert of your testimony. We can testify to the truth of Salvation based on the reality of our experience and its impact on our lives because it is proven firsthand. Our responsibility lies in being witnesses sharing the gospel and speaking God's word in love and compassion to the people around us.

Millennial are generally regarded as more open-minded, self-expressive, and confident. They value meaningful motivation and passion for learning; they are open and adaptive to change with intuitive knowledge of technology; achieving and acknowledge transparency; and receptive to new ideas and ways of living. On the other hand, they also are emotional, sensitive, impatient, and technologically reliant. Understanding and knowing their characteristics would help how to evangelise to them more effectively with God-confidence, love, and compassion.

Even as the next generation of millennial comes to take more roles and responsibilities in the church, the importance of Pentecostalism has never been more emphasised, Churches need to adapt, respond, and evolve in how evangelism is done effectively and still aligned with the teaching and the fulfilment of God's mission.
