The list of the ten most valuable teams has been announced and there are a few surprises.

Transfermarkt has just updated the list of the most valuable teams in the world and it is not surprising that Manchester City has won 3 times.

After a season that saw Pep Guadiola's men win the Champions League, Premier League and FA Cup, City's entire team is valued at £940 million.

Their most valuable player is Erling Haaland, who is worth £154m after his debut season in English football with 52 goals in all competitions.

Meanwhile, academy graduate Phil Foden is valued at £94m and eventual Champions League hero Rodri worth £77m. Bundesliga champions Bayern Munich have the second most valuable squad (£841m), with Jamal Musiala being their most expensive player at £94m. In addition, defensive duo Matthijs de Ligt and Alphonso Davies are valued at £64m and £60m respectively.

Premier League runners-up Arsenal are third on the list (£837m), with Bukayo Saka valued at around £102m, Martin Odegaard £77m and William Saliba £55m.

The rest of the top five is made up of Chelsea (£796m), admittedly backed by one of football's biggest sides, and Paris Saint-Germain (£757m), who boast about the most expensive player in the world - Kylian Mbappe, valued at 154 million pounds.

Surprisingly, despite their world status, Real Madrid are sixth on the list (£746m) while Barcelona (£685.6m) languish in ninth. This comes despite the fact that the former have Vinicius Jr, valued at £128m, in their ranks and the latter have Pedri and Gavi in midfield, valued at £85m and £77m respectively.

Meanwhile, Manchester United have the seventh most valuable squad (£619m), ahead of rivals Liverpool in eighth place (£690m).

And after a season that saw them win their first Scudetto in more than three decades, Napoli now have the tenth most valuable squad in world football (£549m), thanks to Victor Osimhen and Khvicha Kvaratskhelia for £102 million and £72 million respectively.
