Declan Rice has been linked with Manchester City in recent days, and the triple winners are still the subject of a lot of transfer rumors.

According to reports, City was ready to make a bid for the esteemed England player, who is anticipated to depart the London Stadium this summer.

Rice has already drawn interest from Arsenal, who reportedly had two bids rejected by the Hammers, the second of which might have cost up to £90 million.

When approached by the PA news agency, City declined to comment on the reports.

The club doesn't seem to be stopping after their successes from last season, so the Etihad Stadium is already looking to have a busy summer.

Ilkay Gundogan, City's captain, appears to be leaving for Barcelona after reportedly declining a new deal.

The Spanish champions reportedly made the Germany midfielder a three-year offer that was more lucrative than what City had offered.

Although City wanted the 32-year-old to stay, they were unable to match Barca's advances. City had proposed a one-year deal with an additional 12-month option.

This was a sensible choice given the player's age, and Gundogan will leave with their approval.

In his seven years with City, he made 304 games and collected 12 significant trophies, including this year's treble victory.

He won the Premier League, FA Cup, and Champions League championships while serving as captain. His two goals in the FA Cup final victory over Manchester United, the first of which came in record time after just 13 seconds, were just one of his many significant contributions to the run-up.

After agreeing to a £25 million initial deal with Chelsea for Croatian international Mateo Kovacic, City already has one successor for the midfield position in the works. If certain requirements are satisfied, the total value of the purchase might reach £30 million.

The 29-year-old was approaching the end of his contract at Stamford Bridge when he left Real Madrid to join Chelsea in 2018. Having won the Champions League four times—three times with Real Madrid and one at Chelsea—he would join City.
