Brendan Rodgers said that he is sorry for the "hurt" he caused Celtic fans when he left for Leicester because he "guaranteed" that this time he would stay until the end of his three-year contract, unless he was fired first.
The Northern Irishman took over the Parkhead club on Monday, nearly four and a half years after he left for the Foxes, prompting criticism from a sizeable portion of Hoops supporters who felt betrayed that he left mid-season while the team was pursuing a treble-treble.
Although many fans have welcomed Rodgers back to the team, the manager is hoping to win over those who still harbor unresolved grudges.
It was a very emotional time because the club was attempting to win ten straight games.I sincerely thank the folks who have given me a lot of support both before and after I departed. Although Rodgers claims he has no regrets about accepting the Leicester position, he is happy to have the chance to try to set things right with the Hoops supporters.
