Check out some cancer causing foods that you should avoid.

Here is a draft article on foods that may raise your risk of cancer:

Foods That May Raise Your Risk of Cancer

While a healthy diet can help lower cancer risk, some foods may actually raise your chances of developing the disease. Here are some foods to limit or avoid to reduce your cancer risk:

• Processed meats - Salted, smoked, and cured meats like sausage, bacon and ham have been linked to a higher risk of colorectal cancer. This may be due to the carcinogens formed during curing and smoking, along with the high sodium content. The World Health Organization classified processed meats as carcinogenic.

• Refined carbohydrates - Foods high in refined carbs like white flour, white rice and sugary snacks promote inflammation and disrupt gut bacteria in ways that may increase cancer risk. Eating more whole grains, fruits and vegetables is recommended instead.

• Sugary drinks - Frequent consumption of soda, sugar-sweetened fruit drinks and fruit juice has been tied to a higher risk ofcancers like breast, colorectal and pancreatic cancers. This is likely due to the high sugar content and lack of nutrients.

• Fried foods - Many fried foods, especially fried potatoes and chips, contain acrylamide, a probable carcinogen formed when starch-rich foods are cooked at high temperatures. Limiting fried and overly-cooked foods may help lower cancer risk.

• Grilled meats - Cooking meats at high temperatures, especially over an open flame, produces heterocyclic amines that may act as carcinogens in the body. Limiting grilled, barbecued and charred meats may reduce the risk of certain cancers.

• Alcohol - Drinking alcohol raises cancer risk, especially for breast, colorectal, liver and oral cancers. Even moderate drinking is linked to higher rates of certain cancers, so limiting alcohol intake is advised.

Adopting an overall healthy diet focusing on whole, minimally processed foods like fruits and vegetables, whole grains, beans and legumes, and unsaturated fats can help lower your cancer risk more than avoiding any single food. Maintaining a healthy weight and regular exercise also contribute significantly.
