31-0 was the largest margin of victory in international football history. This impressive result was achieved by the Australian men's football squad versus American Samoa.

The contest took place on April 11, 2001, and it served as a World Cup qualifier between Korea and Japan in 2002.

American Samoa had a dreadful night, and the football community was startled by the outcome.

The lowest-ranked team going into the game was American Samoa, which was ranked 203rd in the world, while Australia was placed 75th.

At the start of the game, American Samoa managed to hold back the Australian attack for the first 10 minutes. However, when Con Boutsianis scored Australia's first goal, the floodgates opened. Archie Thompson, an Australian forward, ended up scoring 13 goals in the match, setting a new record for the most goals scored in an international match.

In addition, David Zdrilic scored eight goals, and Boutsianis scored three times. Three other Australian players scored two goals each, and substitute Fausto De Amicis scored once. The match was described as a lopsided contest, with the Australian men's soccer team not even fielding several players from the starting line-up.

The overwhelming scoreline of the match also led to several changes in FIFA's qualification system.

Man Utd boss Ten Hag calls Inter Milan keeper Onana

Manchester United boss Erik ten Hag has put in a call to Inter Milan goalkeeper Andre Onana.

United and Inter are haggling over a fee for the Cameroonian.

The Nerazzurri are prepared to sell Onana this summer for €50m, though United are attempting to talk down the valuation.

TMW says Ten Hag is eager to work with his former Ajax No1 again and the pair spoke over the phone earlier this week.

For his part, despite great success in his first season with Inter, Onana is prepared to be sold if the two clubs can reach an agreement.
