Inter is ready to sell the goalkeeper as David De Gea faces a crossroads in his career

Manchester United have signed Inter goalkeeper Andre Onana, who was once a top target for Chelsea.

The 27-year-old has met with Old Trafford officials regarding a potential move worth around £50 million. Erik ten Hag sparked an interest in Onana after working with him at Ajax. They won three league titles together and reached the Europa League final and Champions League semi-finals.

Onana is open to a move to the Premier League and Inter will not stand in his way if he is given a significant fee. However, United was initially cautious and waited for the results of negotiations with David de Gea.

De Gea has an offer under his £375,000-a-week salary and will have to fight for his place next season after failing to impress with the ball at his feet despite winning the Premier League's Golden Gloves.

Clubs in Saudi Arabia are ready to sign De Gea and offer him a significant salary increase, leaving him at a career crossroads.

Mason Mount is United's priority target at the moment and a bid of around £55m is expected in the next 24 hours, while Ten Hag also wants a striker's budget.

United has also been linked with New England Revolution goalkeeper Djordje Petrovic.

At just 23 years old, the Serbian is considered the best goalkeeper in Major League Soccer. He is valued at £24 million by his club and will only move up to No1 if plenty of other interest comes from European rivals.

Chelsea is thought to be a favorite but has tempered their interest due to Mauricio Pochettino's desire to work with Kepa Arrizabalaga as his No.1 option.

The Blues will continue to look for a keeper but prefer an option leaning more toward a backup role.

Valencia's Giorgi Mamardashvili is a potential target but their focus right now is on signing Villarreal striker Nicolas Jackson and Brighton midfielder Moises Caicedo.
