God blesses those who put their trust and hope in Him.
In the old covenant, God expected the chosen people to
remain faithful to Him. He did not want them to turn to other dogs or rely on
their own strength. God also expects us to trust Him today.
Trust
We trust in
• the word of God.
Because we believe in the teaching of Jesus, we align our lives with it. We
believe that it surpasses all our own knowledge and experience.
• the love of God. We
may not always understand His actions, but we trust in Him. We know that He
will provide for our salvation.
• the omnipotence of
God. Nothing is impossible for the One who raised up Jesus from the dead!
Hope
We hope in
• the promise of
Jesus. In the certainty that He will come soon in order to take us unto
Himself, we await Him by diligently modelling our lives on the gospel
( 1John 3:3).
• the grace of Jesus.
In the awareness that we cannot earn the salvation of God, we show humbleness
and repentance in order to find grace with God.
• the glory of the
kingdom of God. This will far surpass all the suffering we have experienced on
earth.
We are blessed.
God blesses those who put their hope and trust Him. This
blessing is primarily of a spiritual nature, and it manifests itself in various
ways.
• Those who are
blessed by God may not always be spared trials, do not have the power to impair
their relationship with God. Just as a tree planted near a river always has
access to water, so too they can always perceive the presence of God at their
side. Hence no matter the tribulation and trial don't let the relationship you have with God waver because without Him it will get very worse than what you are already going through.
