Mason Greenwood 'puts mansion up for let' hinting at Manchester United exit

Speculation surrounding Mason Greenwood's future at Manchester United has increased as reports suggest that he has put his mansion up for rent. According to The Sun, the six-bedroom, six-bathroom property is being privately circulated among high-end letting agents for a monthly rent of over £15,000. This development comes after Greenwood was recently pictured training for the first time since his arrest in 2022, at a public sports center pitch with a private coach.

Although Greenwood is under contract at Manchester United until 2025, an internal investigation is still ongoing to determine his future at the club. Charges of attempted rape and assault against him were dropped by the Crown Prosecution Service in February 2023 due to the withdrawal of key witnesses. His name was included in the list of retained players released by Manchester United to the Premier League last week. However, discussions have reportedly taken place regarding a potential loan move to clubs in Italy, Spain, or Turkey.

The property in Bowdon, Cheshire, which is described as the 'perfect family home' with amenities such as a games room, home office, gym, and staff accommodation, is reportedly being offered for rent. In March, there were reports that Manchester United had turned down offers for Greenwood from Turkish clubs. Although he has not yet played under manager Erik ten Hag, who joined the club in the summer of 2022, Greenwood is said to have already spoken to him.

Regarding the possibility of Greenwood's return to the squad, ten Hag emphasized that he is not involved in the decision-making process. There are conflicting views among the players regarding Greenwood's potential return, and it is reported that some members of the Manchester United Women's team feel uncomfortable about the prospect.

The ownership situation at Manchester United, with a battle for control ongoing between Sheikh Jassim and British billionaire Sir Jim Ratcliffe against the Glazer family, is said to have no impact on the decision regarding Greenwood's future. The club is reportedly not willing to wait for the ownership issue to be resolved before making a decision.

As the speculation surrounding Mason Greenwood's future intensifies, Manchester United fans eagerly await news regarding whether he will remain at the club or seek a move elsewhere. The ongoing internal investigation, coupled with Greenwood's decision to put his mansion up for rent, has fueled speculation about a potential departure from Manchester United. However, no definitive conclusion has been reached, and discussions about a potential loan move to clubs in other countries continue to circulate.
