In the 2024/25 season, the number of participating teams will increase from 32 to 36, excluding the traditional group stage. Instead, the clubs will compete in a single tournament phase, where they will face eight teams - four home and four away.

From there, the teams ranked in the top 8 will advance to the round of 16, while the teams ranked 9th to 16th will compete for tickets to the play-off round. The rest of the knockout round will remain unchanged.
