The 2022/23 season has been a challenging season for many reasons, and four of Jurgen Klopp's first names on the squad have played a lot of minutes.

It's amazing to think that football is on, Harvey Elliott and Curtis Jones taking part in Euro Under-21s this summer - making it a seemingly never-ending season.

It's exhausting to think about, not to mention the players who have to tie their shoelaces three times a week, it's a packed schedule.

And speaking of infinity, that could be the case with Alisson, Mohamed Salah, Virgil van Dijk and Cody Gakpo - four senior Liverpool players who have played 4,000 minutes this season.

This figure takes into account club and country matches since the start of the domestic campaign last August, including World Cups, qualifying and friendlies in addition to club matches. Alisson is the player with the most minutes played of any member of Klopp's team, totaling 4,790 as Liverpool and Brazil's No 1 (4,230 minutes for Liverpool, 560 for Brazil).

Salah is only slightly behind with 4,729 minutes (4,296 for Liverpool, 433 for Egypt), while Van Dijk has a total of 4,695 minutes (3,645 for Liverpool, 1,050 for the Netherlands).

Meanwhile, Gakpo finished his campaign with 4,663 minutes in 60 games combined for PSV (1,961 minutes), Liverpool (1,859) and the Netherlands (843).

It's a testament to each other's readiness that they've all played more than 4,000 minutes this season, having played just seven games without injury - with Van Dijk taking charge of six.

That will be a concern, however, as Liverpool look to recover from their woes of the past year, with the rest being an item that has not been proven available - especially as a first choice for club and country. When compared to the rest of Europe, Man United's Bruno Fernandes comes out on top after playing 6,071 minutes in 70 games, 1,281 minutes more than Alisson.

According to Transfermarkt, Alisson ranked 61st in Europe in minutes played, followed by Salah (#74), Van Dijk (#100) and Gakpo (#112).

However, you might find it surprising that another Liverpool player can say he has played more minutes than the aforementioned quartet - interestingly none of his games have come against the Reds this season. .

Conor Bradley played 4,800 minutes for Bolton and Northern Ireland in his breakout campaign, placing him 56th in Europe and second among all teenagers.

They all come out pre-season on July 11, but until then, you can rest assured they'll make the most of the opportunity to rest and recharge!
