Liverpool are said to be interested in signing Real Madrid star Aurelien Tchouameni - and themselves and Manchester United have been given an indication of the possibility of a deal.
According to Spanish newspaper El Nacional, the Red Devils submitted an offer of 55 million euros to sign Tchouameni, who turned down their offers to join Real Madrid last summer.
As the season began, Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp confirmed an unnamed midfielder had refused to move to Anfield during the transfer window - and Tchouameni has apparently revealed he is the player in question.
A move to Liverpool this summer will come as a surprise, with the Red Devils in talks over the transfer of Nice midfielder Khephren Thuram and showing an active interest in signing Manu Kone from Borussia Mönchengladbach.
Meanwhile, United are another team trying to strengthen their midfield, having made a second offer for Chelsea star Mason Mount on Friday. And speaking on his Vibe with FIVE YouTube podcast, United legend Rio Ferdinand urged his former club to sign Tchouameni.
I said:
“In midfield, you know who I would look for? I'll go get Tchouameni.

"He's a non-player. He's a weird man right now. I will try to catch it. Big [team] improvement."
But both sides know they could face an uphill task to sign the France international.
Liverpool and Man Utd gave Tchouameni hope
Speaking after signing for Real last summer, the 23-year-old has insisted he wants to stay at the Bernabeu long-term and win trophies with the Spanish giants.
"As soon as Real Madrid arrived on the scene, I didn't hesitate. I wanted to leave my mark in football and the best club for that is Real Madrid. It was the best decision for me.
"When Madrid called, I didn't hesitate and talked about it with my family. I wrote to my agent and told him:
Please do all you can to get me there."
Thus, with Tchouameni out of favor at Real at the end of last season due to Eduardo Camavinga's form, and despite Jude Bellingham's big signing this month, it seems unlikely that the French midfielder is not. want to leave the Bernabéu. Early.
