In this part of our world, most people do not appreciate or reciprocate the good people do for them which later goes a long way to change the perception of people who were doing too d willingly. In a Twitter post that is fast gaining attention on the microblogging platform Twitter, a user revealed to his followers how a gas owner helped him with free gas and asked him to pay back whenever he gets the money and the emotional encounter they had afterward.
The user identified on the platform as @General_oluchi made the following revelations and his followers added their one cent to the ongoing conversations.
“Last 2 weeks, I went to my employer’s corporate office and worked from there for 8 hours. On my way home, I stopped by a gas station nearby and suddenly realized that I left my wallet at home. I didn’t worry because I linked my debit card to my Apple wallet so I could just tap my phone to a card scanner to pay.
“I walked into the gas station store and asked the owner if I can pay with Apple Pay and he said yes. I tried a few times but couldn’t. I was embarrassed because the man would think I’m wasting his time. I was also disappointed because I used Apple Pay at work to purchase lunch at the cafeteria and it worked, but now it refused to work at the gas station.
“I asked for his CashApp or Zelle info so I can send him the cash instantly, but he didn’t have any. I still had small gas in the car that would take me home so I told the man not to worry, I’ll manage. He told me he will give me the gas and I can pay him another time. I explained that I only come to this area once a week or once in 2 weeks, but he said not to worry, I should pay him when I return.
“Today, on my way to the office, I drove straight to the gas station and picked up a Dunkin’ Donut gift card. He didn’t recognize me. When I told him about the incident, and that I would like to pay for the gas, and then give him a gift card to get Coffee, he paused and stared at me for a while. He shook his head, took my card, charged the amount for the gas, and gave it back— still speechless.
“I asked him if everything was okay and he said, “I didn’t think you’d return! Do you know how many times I help people like this but they never come back?”
I felt the pain in his voice.
Despite how badly people treated him, he still always give new people a chance. I am glad that I didn’t fail him too and I hope he doesn’t change”.
Her post triggered a whole lot of reactions from users and a few of them are highlighted below;

“You were probably the last person he was gonna
try that on after many people failed, but you have
restored his hope in helping humanity”.

“This is such a beautiful story. Almost had my eyes
welled. I'm thank you went back and to all those
people like him doing good and never getting it in
return; never stop being good”.
“One thing I always say is, if someone especially a
stranger trusts you with something, endeavor not
to fail or disappoint them. It takes a lot to be
trusted by strangers”.
