DISMANTLING RAPE CULTURE

<< READ RAPE CULTURE 101

Rape culture enablement has made the world unsafe for girls and women and has ingrained in women wariness of all men.

In discourses initiating the discussion of rape culture and dismantling it among women and few men, there are predominantly other men that notoriously infiltrate the discourse to gaslight, negate or silence advocacy for women as the predominant victim class of rape.

This is purposely to silence them from painting the demographic as "devils" or "making them look bad" when the demographic has done that by its own hand on the subject for millennia.

Interjections along the lines of "it's unfair to paint all men in that way"; "are you referring to your fathers, brothers, and uncles?" are not only zero additions to solving the problem as it's misplaced investment of energy in advocacy; but it also invalidates victims whose predators WERE their fathers, brothers and uncles.

Women have not been spared from anyone.

With all due respect, it would be highly valuable to making the world safe for women not to spend energy tone policing women or acting as PR for the "good men" that exist; but to spend energy dismantling rape culture perpetuated predominantly by problematic male socialization and patriarchy.

As the "good men", starting discourses in men spaces on rape culture, consent and speaking up about the flaws in male socialization that's making women validly feel unsafe around all men is a better place to start.

Course of action should border outing male behaviour contributing to the statistics of rape and sexual assault around the world in their circles and holding conversations on raising men with those aspects corrected.

To make the world safe for women in your life with other men out there, men also have to be concerned with dismantling the culture making it unsafe for all women so the women in your life are also safe.

It shouldn't be just a women's topic to talk about.

Contribute to dismantling rape culture.

Assume admission that there IS a concerning problem with male socialization influencing the demographic negatively and creating these concerning statistics.

Do not silence those who speak up. Rather work towards opposing what contributes to the disturbing statistics.
