Xavi wants 21-year-old Barcelona youngster in pre-season no matter what .
As the summer transfer window approaches, Barcelona is keen to offload some of their unwanted players, including those who were out on loan last season. However, one loanee who seems to have a future at the club is Ez Abde. The 21-year-old winger had a successful season at CA Osasuna, scoring two goals and providing four assists in all competitions, helping the team secure a seventh-place finish in La Liga and reaching the Copa del Rey final.
According to SPORT, Barcelona manager Xavi Hernandez is determined to include Ez Abde in the first-team pre-season squad, regardless of the circumstances. This decision comes after the winger's impressive performance for the Moroccan U-23 national team, where he scored a brace in a 2-1 victory against Guinea in the AFCON U-23 tournament.
Abde was hoping to resolve his future quickly, as he was open to either a loan or a permanent transfer away from Barcelona. Real Betis and several Premier League clubs have shown interest in the young winger. Abde is aware of the competition he would face at Barcelona, with players like Raphinha, Ousmane Dembele, Ansu Fati, and Ferran Torres vying for positions on the wings. While there are uncertainties surrounding the futures of Torres and Fati, reports suggest that Barcelona might retain Fati.
Considering the potential lack of playing time upon his return to Catalonia, Abde understandably has reservations. However, Xavi remains adamant about closely assessing the 21-year-old during the pre-season. If no changes occur, Abde could also join the team for the pre-season tour in the United States. Some individuals within the club may not oppose his sale if a good offer arrives, but currently, it seems highly likely that Abde will remain at Barcelona for the upcoming season to show his capability
